About John
Over the years I've practiced with several yoga studios, experiencing different approaches to yoga, bringing me to today- with a yoga teacher certification from The Breathing Project studio in Manhattan and a hatha yoga practice reaching thru physical postures to engage our mind and spirit. As a teenager, I began studying eastern religions. Inheriting the legacy of 1960's, and balancing marriage, career and raising a family, has brought me being a yoga teacher. The journey continues... In class I share my experience with Buddhist sitting meditation which continues with my participation in retreats at the Chuang Yen Monastery in Carmel, and my experiences from Chi Gung practice with Mantak Chia and some of his original students. For more about my efforts to be effortless (the paradox of continuing a practice to stay aware in the present moment while running on a treadmill) visit the yoga on main blog page. I'm thankful to the many yoga students and teachers I've met, who have been so generous in sharing their own know how. StudioOpen classes are held at The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Mount Kisco, located on the corner at the " T " intersection of Main Street and South Bedford Rd, directly across from Northern Westchester Hospital. There is lots of parking in the church lot. There are extra yoga mats if needed.
